The principles that govern how Amplify & Elevate Innovation uses AI in our own work.
We help school communities build AI guidance they trust. The first place we hold ourselves to that standard is in our own practice. This page is how we use AI inside AEI.
Humanity stays at the center
Every AEI engagement is led by a human practitioner. AI helps us synthesize patterns across listening sessions and organize the research that informs your engagement. The decisions that affect your community are made by people, with our names on them.
The AI Sandwich, applied to us
The AI Sandwich Strategy is the mental model we teach educators, and the same one we use ourselves. Human thinking sets the purpose. AI helps in the middle. Human judgment returns at the end to refine, edit, and own the output. Nothing reaches a client that hasn’t passed through that final human layer.
Transparency every time
When we use AI on work for you, we say so. That applies to listening session synthesis, draft policy language, and research summaries. Anything else that involves AI gets named in our deliverables and in our planning conversations. We name AI involvement because clients deserve to know what shaped the work they receive.
Your data stays protected
We handle client data with the same care we ask districts to demand from their vendors. Personally identifiable information is removed before any AI processing. Client-specific material is never used to train any model. Sensitive material is handled with tools that meet our privacy and security standards.
Lines we hold
AI detection tools produce unreliable results for students, and we won’t build district guidance around them or use them on work that comes through AEI.
Every AEI engagement is delivered by a human practitioner.
Quotes, examples, and moments from your community come from your community, not from an AI generating plausible-sounding content.
A living document
This policy evolves as our practice evolves and as the technology does. If you have questions about how we use AI in your engagement, or if you want us to adjust our approach for your context, reach Brett directly at brett@aeieducation.org.
