Valentina Carreño is the Marketing Associate at Amplify & Elevate Innovation, where she supports education leaders in using AI tools and storytelling to drive equity-centered change in schools and communities. Her work focuses on strategic communications, content development, and helping organizations reimagine what’s possible through technology, innovation, and authentic narrative.
She is a junior political science and human rights major at the University of Chicago, graduating with honors. Her commitment to educational equity is deeply personal—shaped early on by her experience as a REACH Prep scholar, which opened doors to new opportunities while revealing the structural disparities that define many students’ educational journeys.
In addition to her work at Amplify & Elevate, she serves on the Associate Board of Literacy Chicago, where she partners with adult learners—particularly immigrants and individuals with limited literacy—to expand access to educational tools, legal resources, and civic participation. She has also contributed to local campaigns and grassroots efforts focused on equity and access.
Her honors thesis explores the relationship between adult illiteracy and political engagement in the U.S., blending qualitative interviews and policy research to highlight the barriers that prevent millions from participating fully in democratic life.
Valentina plans to attend law school to build on her work in education, using legal tools to challenge systemic inequities, advocate for inclusive policy solutions, and protect the rights of marginalized communities. She hopes to continue bridging the worlds of advocacy, innovation, and law to drive meaningful change.
Together, let’s shape a brighter and more inclusive future for education.
